Van Basten II Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 You're missing the point, yes it is silly but it is fun, you gotta laugh at a machine who asks you what do you prefer between Mondern Times and Ghostbusters II Quote
Van Basten II Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 (edited) 350 picks later and an afternoon wasted, here's what i have ended up so far. 1 Modern Times 1936 Charles Chaplin 2 Dog Day Afternoon 1975 Sidney Lumet 3 Ed Wood 1994 Tim Burton 4 North by Northwest 1959 Alfred Hitchcock 5 Pulp Fiction 1994 Quentin Tarantino 6 The Third Man 1949 Carol Reed 7 Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery 1997 Jay Roach 8 Apocalypse Now 1979 Francis Ford Coppola 9 GoodFellas 1990 Martin Scorsese 10 Das Boot 1982 Wolfgang Petersen For whatever reason Austin Powers remains in my top ten but for the rest, i gotta admit that the rest without being exactly as it should it mentions movies that i have enjoyed a lot. All great movies, though I've never seen Ed Wood. Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 Still having fun, also the algorythm seems to be limite so the results have to be taken with a grain of salt. Do you know a lot of people or site who would ask you if you prefer Casablanca to Pokemon. By the way my top 20 now is... 1.Pulp Fiction 2.The Third Man 3.The Player 4.Modern Times 5.Metropolis 6.Annie Hall 7.Dog Day Afternoon 8.Ed Wood 9.Vertigo 10.North by Northwest 11.All About Eve 12.Short Cuts 13.Amarcord 14.The King of Comedy 15.Brazil 16.Boogie Nights 17.GoodFellas 18.The Age of Innocence 19.Amadeus 20.Traffic It does not make for good rankings but it does makes a credible list. If you wonder who's participating to this kind of site, let's just say that the top movie right now is the Dark Night Quote

Van Basten II Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 To the best of my knowledge that's all you need to do, i'll state the obvious but have you checked your email junk file. Only problem i had to get in was to find a name that they would accept. Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 Trying to register myself again, using another email, will tell you how it works. Quote
BruceH Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 I don't want to register at yet another site. Quote

The same thing happened to me. I provided my email on 6/29 and still haven't heard a peep. Nothing in my junk email folder either. Maybe I'll try it again. Edit - My predictions for a top 10 or many that will be among my top 10: The Godfather The Godfather II Amadeus Apocalypse Now The Shawshank Redemption Goodfellas Some Like It Hot Gladiator Spirited Away The Bourne Trilogy (Identity, Supremacy, Ultimatum) Edited July 2, 2009 by mikelz777 Quote
Van Basten II Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Kinda weird never received anything either, i know it's still the beta version, the official will start in september, maybe they have reached their quota for the beta period. Edited July 3, 2009 by Van Basten II Quote
Jazzmoose Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Sounds like fun, but I can't get it to work either. As far as registering at another site, Bruce, you can always register as elmer fudd at elmerfuddxxxx@hotmail.com, substituting whatever phony character and numbers you want. I always do this with sites I figure I won't be using on an ongoing basis. Quote
