jlhoots Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 It must have been tempting to add additional tracks to this release. It just sounds so good. Kampen on No Business is good but this is better. The CD era has made us greedy for length, never mind that , feel the width here. There is more music but we decided this was the perfect program. Maybe vol. 2 someday. Just bein' greedy. Quote

NIS Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 So, please forgive me if this has been previously been asked and answered; Any chance "People In Sorrow" might get a reissue? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 20, 2015 Author Report Posted March 20, 2015 Wait and see. I am curious too. I want to remind folks they don't need to be Face Book members to access the Nessa Records page, and it has a bunch of "historic" photos mostly made by my wife Ann. Quote
paul secor Posted March 20, 2015 Report Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for the reminder. I'm not on Facebook, but there are a slew of great photos, information, interviews, etc. on your page. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 4, 2015 Author Report Posted May 4, 2015 Barring unforeseen circumstances, August 2015 will see the release of nessa ncd-37. Around the first of this year I learned Roscoe Mitchell would be playing a concert in celebration of our good friend Fred Anderson. Sensing this might be something special and using my close relationship with Roscoe, I asked him if I could have the event recorded (on my dime). He agreed and we have decided to issue the concert on cd. nessa ncd-37 Roscoe Mitchell Quartet Celebrating Fred Anderson 1. Song for Fred Anderson 17:24 2. Bernice 10.40 3. The Velvet Lounge 6:43 4. Chuck Nessa Posted May 4, 2015 Author Report Posted May 4, 2015 Let me see how the production proceeds. This is a special release for both of us. Quote

colinmce Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Fantastic news on many fronts, one of which is more Tomeka on record. Quote
Leeway Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 Appears I made a good guess over in the Listening thread on what would be 37 - . Of course I'll want it! Quote
