Anyone familiar with Ottawa music stores?

I just set up shop in Ottawa, and will be here for about a year. So far, I haven't seen too many music shops other than the usual suspects like HMV and MusicWorld, and their jazz sections are so small that they skip entire letters of the alphabet - no Lee OR Hank in most of them.

Does anyone know of any stores here with a decent jazz section?

Any info on Montreal would also be appreciated, as that is probably the only real option.

I wish I could be of help, but I have no idea about either city (and couldn't find any when I was there...). If you ever need help with Toronto, however, I know them all. Otherwise, I would ask someone working at those stores about used stuff.

The 3 locations of CD Warehouse are OK. The one at Clyde and Merivale is the best. There is nothing else of interest with respect to jazz CDs in Ottawa.

I lived in Ottawa for a few months 7 years ago, and I recall there were a couple very good CD stores, one downtown (sorry I cant remember the name, but it was on Rideau St, down about 2 or 3 blocks from the mall as you go away from Parliament Hill), and the CD Warehouse mentioned above. Montreal however, is a different story. There are some fantastic stores there in the downtown area. My advice is to just start exploring Ste Catherine's and the streets surrounding it. There are a lot of good places

I lived in Ottawa years ago: 1977-78, and the pickings were very slim - both for record stores and live jazz/jam sessions etc.

But, that's where online retailers come in.
