JSngry Posted August 20, 2017 Report Posted August 20, 2017 Yeah, I was totally ignorant about where the vocals were coming from, had to look the guy up to learn that it's a Flamenco thing. Always something new to learn, always. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 Pianist Julius Rodriguez. Anyone else hear of him? After a few highly talented jazz musicians said this man can play, and he will make a big impact to the music, I checked this out this YouTube concert. Quote
JSngry Posted March 13, 2022 Report Posted March 13, 2022 Macroblank. Apparently a leading exponent of Vaporwave, about which I knew absolutely nothing, but it's one of those things that appears to have very little substance, but actually has some very deliberate choice being made quite well. https://macroblank.bandcamp.com/ I like a music that creates meaningful spaces that don't get filled...or do with minimal content. Macroblank indeed!!!!! Quote
Dub Modal Posted March 14, 2022 Report Posted March 14, 2022 Lots: Ron McLure Bill Mobley Bill Easley Gerald Clayton Earma Thompson The list goes on... Quote

Macroblank indeed!!!!! Expand Sounds like some really interesting quiet storm/smooth jazz. They effectively weave in some harmonizing disparate elements that you don't get from typical smooth jazz cruise acts, along with an at-times ominous soundscape. I dig it. Quote
