Son-of-a-Weizen
Saw the LP over at the Eastwind site and wondered about the 'other noise'? The Rolls engines on those BOAC 707s flying around nearby LA International? "Due to the nature of private recording, the sound quality is far from optimal, and there are significant tape hiss and other noise due to the conditions of the analog tapes. Some of the tunes are incomplete with fade-ins and fade-outs but all solos by Sims are recorded in their entirety."

You are right : the 707-420 pictured here was produced for BOAC and featured Rolls Royce Conway engines. Most other 707 used Pratt and Whitney JT3D / JT4D (IIRC)
