slide_advantage_redoux Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 While browsing on Ebay (A daily habit), I came across this listing. I almost fell out of my chair. I wonder if this is legit. If only I had that kind of money to gamble with..... check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4634&category=4 Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 We will have to ask Ramiro whether those are bales of music or bales of drugs. Who is going to give that kind of money to a guy without a feedback record? Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 "Special storage", eh? Well, I guess it would look pretty silly to say they all "fell off the truck"... Quote
bertrand Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 I hope I didn't accidentally make a bid just by clicking on the link. I am an e-bay virgin and intend to remain so. Seriuoulsy, who knows if this isn't just multiple copies of Pat Boone records? Did anyone call this guy? Quote

AfricaBrass Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 With my luck, if I bought that collection, it would turn out to be: 200,000 copies of the DVD of the movie "Cabin Boy" starring Chris Elliott. 400,000 Wynton Marsalis CDs. 100,000 LP copies of Don Johnson's "Heartbeat" album from '85. Well, AB, what's the chances of it being 200,000 copies of Lee Morgan, "Delighfulee?" Aint gonna happen. It's a pile of WYNTON!!! Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Aint gonna happen. It's a pile of WYNTON!!! It's probably ALL Wynton!!! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Wynton with lots of drugs in between. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Conn, I think you've coined a new term. "A pile of Wynton" = When something that seems too good to be true, turns out to be too good to be true. It turns out to be a pile of Wynton. Usage example: Question: Did you hear the new Blue Note compilation? It's supposed to have new tracks by original BN artists such as Andrew Hill, Jimmy Smith, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, etc... Answer I heard it, but it turned out to be a pile of Wynton. It only contained tracks by Ronny Jordan and George Howard. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 (edited) Brilliant, AB; you have just added a new idiom to my language. Edited November 13, 2003 by connoisseur series500 Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 ROTFLMAO Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Tjazz Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I noticed the description listed cassettes and lps too. Ha ha. It'll cost you some bucks just to store all the stuff. If you check the dollar bins at most used stores, there's tons of titles that are worthless. I"m sure some 'used' stores eventually discard many discs that are in their dollar bins. Quote
