Cliff Englewood Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 If Chris cared about the Big O Board, he would have left quietly and not have created another possibly incendiary situation. Let's let this go and move on to better things. Again, Amen to that.
AllenLowe Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 c'mon, leave it behind, Cliff - if I can forgive Hitler, I can also forgive you (maybe) -
7/4 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 What the fuck is your problem? Enough with the Hitler "jokes". .
catesta Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 I recall the last major split was maybe a year ago over the US style "free speech" vs. European consensus approach. The problems in 2007, which came to a head in the last couple of months of that year, arose from personal attacks and indeed the different American and European interpretations of freedom of speech. They drove members like couw, deus62/neveronfriday and a few others away. I was also very upset and left the board for a while. I miss couw - the board was a better place with his contributions. You're right. Unfortunately, he has no intention to return. Please send my regrets about this to John, if possible. He was a good guy. (and hopefully still is...) miss couw 2. he was a lotta fun. me 3, Couw was a very cool guy. For me the board changed when couw and some of the others left. It seemed to have become a much more serious place. Don't get me wrong I still like it here, but I miss those dudes and the banter.
Shawn Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Here's a good idea. Create a new forum called "The Playpen". Any posters who can't get over these childish virtual arguments are banished to "The Playpen" until they can learn to get along with each other. Once they've agreed to stop the temper tantrums they can come back out and post with the adults again.

AllenLowe Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 I actually did not like Couw, but that puts me in the minority here - a better title for the new forum would be Feuds and Grudges -
Hot Ptah Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 I actually did not like Couw, but that puts me in the minority here - a better title for the new forum would be Feuds and Grudges - Allen, you are a bigger person, with so much more going for you, than to get sucked into these feuds and grudges. You have so much to offer us from your knowledge of music. A small suggestion--I will say to someone who insults me in business, "you may be right". In my mind, I am thinking, "and you may also be very, very wrong, you stupid m------------" But I keep that last part to myself. It works for me. You might try that as a routine--whn someone insults you here, reply with nothing more than "you may be right." Let's get back to discussing music.
AllenLowe Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 well, you may be right..........................................
Dan Gould Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 This shit has got to stop. And I think it starts with you, Allen. You didn't like couw? Who gives a shit? And yesterday you go after Hans, when he said not a damn thing about you? Until you convinced him this wasn't a place he needed to be, I'd dare say that everyone liked couw. I sure as hell didn't have mixed feelings about him the way I do with you, and Chris for that matter. But certain people here seem to think that if they aren't universally admired and every f-ing thing they say isn't accepted like it was chiseled into some stone tablets, are being victimized by "personal attacks" because of their "prominence". I call "bull shit". Get over yourselves. And stop this shit. Please.
AllenLowe Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) bite me Dan, back to your old habits- you don't like my posts? Who gives a shit? Edited April 16, 2009 by AllenLowe
Dan Gould Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Yeah, except that I suspect a lot of people are or will be agreeing with me.
AllenLowe Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 (edited) good for you and good for them - as we know from the Reagan/Bush/Bush years, the majority are always right - Edited April 16, 2009 by AllenLowe
catesta Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 The guy (J.A.W.) said, "let's let this go - I will". Why can't you just leave it at that?
.:.impossible Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 If you feel like this is directed at you, it probably is. Please cool it.
Jim Alfredson Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Enough. I am still saddened that couw is no longer posting here (along with others). I don't want to see Chris go. However, I cannot make someone stay who doesn't want to, but a lot of the things said in this thread do not help matters at all. It's a beautiful, sunny day outside. I'm going to go take a walk and enjoy the spring. I suggest y'all do the same. There's a big world out there.
