relyles
Firehouse 12 is a great place to hear music.
AllenLowe
I lived in New Haven for 20 years, as soon as I leave they get a place like that -

fasstrack
The funny thing is that young man Julian Lage is a pretty straight ahead player (unless he changed). He started out, I think, winning blues contests, very talented with a stage father. I heard some recent recordings. Very nice and I don't know if he's even hit 20 yet. Never been to the Firehouse, but I rarely venture to Brooklyn these days. I figure I paid my dues: 31 years there---in Canarsie, no less----was enough
fasstrack
Oops. Why did I think Brooklyn? Fuhgeddaboutit...........
relyles
Not all of the performances at Firehouse 12 are really avant garde. For example, last Friday Jimmy Greene appeared with his quartet.
clifford_thornton
They do a nice job with CDs and recording - hope to make it to the performance space at some point. Looking forward to the Dixon set, of course.
PHILLYQ
I bought a couple of their discs(Taylor Ho Bynum & Mary Halvorson), and they are beautifully recorded besides real good music. One day I'll take the trip there when I'm feeling adventurous- it's a bit of a trek from Brooklyn but not from Brookline!
