Gary
Im really not the person to ask about how to download , I'm a bit crap at that sort of thing , but I've not had any problems with realplayer & everything I've listened to or watched seems to stay in my music file ( I always find some very interesting stuff on my PC the morning after a bottle of red wine ). Have you dowloaded realplayer ? I normally put evey weeks broadcast onto minidisc from my radio ( & keep what i enjoy). It would be unfortunate if you cannot listen, a few of the people mentioned on this thread have been on the show (Ellery Eskelin , Sunny Murray , Ken Vandermark - we'll maybe it would have been just me that enjoyed Ken ). rockefeller center
I have never really managed to find out how the BBC3 site works - can these sound bits be downloaded and put onto CDR in some way, or are they just to be listened to online? And with what programme? Realplayer does not seem to work! http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/audiohelp.shtml?focuswin Yes, it's possible to record and edit audio streams with software like www.goldwave.com (in goldwave you have to select wave/mp3 as input source: device control properties/volume/*wave/mp3). If you have any questions, bitte fragen. Grüezi. Edited March 12, 2004 by rockefeller center

king ubu
Apologies for the BBC link - I thought some people may be interested. No apologies needed, Gary! I think there would be some interesting things to be found there, yet, as I said: I have not yet figured out how to listen and/or save these things (which did frustrate me a couple of months ago, already, as I did try before...). Yet with your and rockefeller's help I might find out now! (I'll PM you). And sorry for my tasteless jokes! ubu
John B
Any Berne recommendations? ubu yes, go to screwgun immediately and buy the Empire box (5 discs for $30) and the the Bloodcount - Unwound box (3 cds for $28.) The Empire box is a re-release of his albums on JMT, recorded in the late 1970's / early 1980's. Unwound contains all live tracks recorded by Bloodcount (Berne, Jim Black and Chris Speed.) Both sets are great and really inexpensive through Berne directly.

king ubu
These two boxes do look really cool! Did I not look at it good enough or are the Winter&Winter JMT reissues listed on the site NOT included on the "Empire Box"? ubu
John B
Did I not look at it good enough or are the Winter&Winter JMT reissues listed on the site NOT included on the "Empire Box"? ubu They are not included. The albums in the box are Five Year Plan, 7x, Spectres and Songs and Rituals in Real Time, which is a double album.
king ubu
And these are all good, John? I find the JMT output rather crappy, I have to admit (although I only know few of their releases, and read about many only) ubu

J.A.W.
I'm listening to this one right now: I'm not sure what to think of it yet. Edit: I like it, but it's very arranged "20th Century Classical-ish" music. Not to everyone's taste, I guess. Edited March 13, 2004 by J.A.W. Д.Д.
I heard Evan Parker's Monoceros for the first time today. John, where did you get this one? It looks like it's OOP now.

J.A.W.
I listened to Franz Koglman's OOP hatART album About Yesterday's Ezzthetics yesterday, and I found it extremely dull, in spite of the presence of Fritz Hauser and Steve Lacy. Neither player did get very much room on this album. Pity.

Forced Exposure. I was able to buy it through them fairly recently, so they might still have some in stock.
