Brad Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 It's possible that someone may have posted and if so my apologies but this is an amazing video of the notes dancing off the page. Quote
Free For All Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Of all the various attempts to animate Giant Steps this one is my favorite, really fun to watch and very well done as far as the synchronization. It's interesting to study this solo, Trane definitely has some favorite licks- check out what he does in bars 9 and 14 (which both have the same changes) over the course of the solo. One thing about these tunes, like GS, Countdown, Satellite....he never really played them again after the studio recordings, almost like they were intended to be exercises, a means to an end. Are there any live versions of these tunes? Quote
Dave James Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I've always found this "version" to be kind of interesting: Up over and out. Quote
