It came out as part of a Milestone twofer, with Moore's other Jazzland LP, "Wild Bill's beat". "Bottom groove" is less of a honking album - but the other doesn't have much honking anyway. It features Johnny "Hammond" Smith, Joe Benjamin, Ben Riley & Ray Baretto. I think this was Keepnews' attempt to make a couple of Prestige albums MG Quote
