I swear, this is the absolute truth - my family had that record when I was a kid (around 1970, I guess), and I loved it. Hey, I was eleven - not quite ready for late Coltrane at that point. I remember the titles "March of the Martians" and "Moog Foo Yung."

This cover can be studied for hours. Where is Toshiko really? And who is her old pals? Is it the maid one of them? Or does the maid know her pals? Or does her pals like to wear maid clothes? Is the suitcase very heavy? What is in the suitcase? Is she waving to the photographer, her old pals or someone else? Maybe a lover? She's well and suitable dressed, is it cold outside? And so on...

I have no idea what are the answers to any of the questions you have raised, but the music on this album is excellent, as always with Toshiko.
