jeffcrom Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 I swear, this is the absolute truth - my family had that record when I was a kid (around 1970, I guess), and I loved it. Hey, I was eleven - not quite ready for late Coltrane at that point. I remember the titles "March of the Martians" and "Moog Foo Yung." Quote

clifford_thornton Posted November 2, 2010 Report Posted November 2, 2010 Guess Wal Mart won't put in on display I've never even heard of that one, but based on some of the personnel, it looks like I "need" it! Quote
Hoppy T. Frog Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 On a tiny CD, I thought that shot was at an airport arrival hall, and so the cover, along with the album title, would make sense. Now that I see the maid lurking in the background, I don't know what to believe. Quote
jostber Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 This cover can be studied for hours. Where is Toshiko really? And who is her old pals? Is it the maid one of them? Or does the maid know her pals? Or does her pals like to wear maid clothes? Is the suitcase very heavy? What is in the suitcase? Is she waving to the photographer, her old pals or someone else? Maybe a lover? She's well and suitable dressed, is it cold outside? And so on... Quote

I have no idea what are the answers to any of the questions you have raised, but the music on this album is excellent, as always with Toshiko. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Is that any relation to Curtis Mayfield's Superfly? Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Just saw this in the "multiple images of the artist" thread, and I definitely went "Uhhh...." Quote
Bright Moments Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 could that be benny hill? Quote
sidewinder Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 (edited) Not Benny Hill - but with dubious ditties included like 'The Good Ship Venus' the whole thing reeks of 70s England ' Edited November 21, 2010 by sidewinder Quote
