nmorin Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 (edited) Ok, maybe I am a cloth-earned nitwit, but I can never seem to pick out at what point on the On the Corner CD there's a cello playing. I've read and heard more than a couple times that there IS one (w/ Paul Buckminster playing it?), but I can't find it. Could someone with a more discerning ear help me out? Thanks! sidewinder Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Paul Tingen's book mentions in the session notes that Paul Buckmaster appears on electric cello (with wah-wah on some tracks) although I can't say I've ever been able to distinguish the sound of it in the mix. I'll have another listen for this during the next few days ! Buckmaster apparently brought in some Stockmaster-influenced charts to the sessions but they were radically reworked by Miles so that the original concept was sort of lost. Quote
David Williams Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Electric wah-wah cello may sound an awful lot like guitar if Mat Maneri's electric viola on Sustain is anything to go by. Quote
Late Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Anyone listened to this — for cello — in the last ten years that this thread was started? I'll have a go at it this weekend. Quote
B. Clugston Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 I believe the cello is on "Ife" on Big Fun. Buckmaster is playing it. Quote
sidewinder Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Jeez, is it really 10 years ago?... Quote
king ubu Posted January 30, 2014 Report Posted January 30, 2014 Stockmaster and Buckhausen ya mean? But then shouldn't that have been Stockminster? I'm confused ... Quote
