I don't want to sound rude but please understand that at this time I cannot comment on what will be issued precisely when - although we have a fix schedule for the next months and a provisional plan for issues well into 2006. (Actually, I have already written liner-notes for about 30 Cds that are going to be issued.) ghost of miles Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Jaffa's confirmation echoed in Worlds Records' mailing today: A bit of news from Classics Jazz label (this company also produces the Classics R&B label) - they are resuming production after a ten month hiatus. The next batch of five releases is expected in the next several weeks. It is unclear at this time when out-of-stock past catalog CDs from this label will be returning. Quote

Classics 1380 to 1384 are pressed, printed and packed: They will be available in France from next week (July 11) on and subsequently abroad - depending on how fast distributors and shops order. Classics now resumes its monthly issue of 5 CDs ! (I am currently preparing notes for issues up to 1419) Since the hiatus lasted way too long, here's a run-down of the 5 CDs that are ready for dispatch: 1380: Dizzy 1953 1381: Bille Coleman 1952/53 1382: Eddie Lockjaw Davis 1948-53 1383: Billy Taylor (p) 1952/53 1384: Bechet 1952 and - as a "teaser" - the August-batch will include Norvo, Basie, Moody... The sale is starting this week. More items will be added in the next couple of weeks. All those Classics CDs are priced at €10 ($12). It is really nice to have all of these sessions on one CD and I am looking forward to the next volumes, but I wish they would have put all of his sessions on here. They excluded the sessions that he led in the Forties because they were already on volumes by Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie. Quote
