JSngry Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) the monkey? why does it symbolise drugs? Something to do with a monkey on his back? Except it's not on his back! ("I've got a monkey on my back" = "I'm addicted".) I must say this interpretation never occurred to me and I think it's very unlikely that it was intended by either Blue Note or McLean. ah, I see... I think the reference I picked up somewhere, might have been in the Penguin guide (they thought it was ironic or something, that the monkey on the cover sort of un-disguised McLean's habit, but I'm sure what it exactly said). The monkey's name was "Mr. Jones"The monkey is decidedly off of Jackie's back 'nuff said Edited June 12, 2009 by JSngry Quote

Were monkeys allowed as pets in NYC? Just wonderin' Quote
JSngry Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 This is TOO rich: Capuchin monkeys have VERY strict dietary requirements, with the exact amount of food necessary on a daily basis. They also need to be fed at the same time every day. http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_to_care_for_ypur_monkey Quote
AndrewHill Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Ok, did not know that Capucian was a species of monkey, so I learned something new tonight! Now, the album title makes sense Quote
