roger4554 Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 Kudos on your performance at The Small Planet Sunday. I really dug a tune that I had never heard you play before, the title had something to do with Vietnam. Extremely cool - hope it gets on your next CD. I also enjoyed the Christmas carol you slipped into Pumpkin Pie. It fit perfectly. Brought a smile. Quote
neysahead Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Ditto! The show had a good mix of stuff I hadn't heard before along with songs I would have missed if they hadn't been played (Grooveadelphia, Bleeker and Pumpkin Pie). Also, I was glad to hear Christmas Time Is Here. I really enjoy the Christmas tunes you posted here on the forum and was glad to hear one live. Now if I can just convince a few friends to come out on a Sunday night... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Roger, That tune is called Como En Vietnam and was written by Steve Swallow. I think it appears on a Gary Burton / Keith Jarrett record from the early 70s. Cool tune! I'd like it to end up on a CD as well. Good to see you and thanks for coming out and supporting the band! I just checked out the Gary Burton/Keith Jarrett version on Amazon.com and I like your version better... much better. Quote
