I'm interested to hear opinions about the current crop.

The Day the Earth Stood Still.......is the remake worth seeing? More than just a bunch of CGI?

Benjamin Button.....very interesting premise, wondering if it will work.

Anyone see Australia? It looked interesting, but I've been hearing bad reviews.

I did see the new Bond (Solace) and enjoyed it. Whatever weaknesses it had, I do like Daniel Craig and the way they've rebooted the series.

Others? This is usually the time for the studios to roll out the "Oscar contenders". Anything worth checking out?

It looks like a pile of crap. However it does have Jennifer Connelly...

These days I just put them in our Netflix queue.

9 bucks a month, we get 2 flicks a week and my feet don't ever stick to the floor.

Yeah, I do Netflix too. Very convenient although sometimes I get a crappy DVD that wants to stall out a lot.

Still, some movies are worth seeing in the big theatre.

The Day the Earth Stood Still was a popcorn matinee movie. . . okay.

Australia was better, a chick-flick (every woman in the place sucked their breath in when Jackman appeared in a tux at a dinner party). It was a melodrama in the classic sense. . . there were scenes that were "too much" for reality, and were there to serve and propel the story's aims.

How about when he appeared with no shirt?

Honestly, the tux got more indrawn breaths!

Bolt is fun, some amazing 3D stuff. Your kid will love it Nate.

My wife and I had a good time seeing Slumdog Millionaire.

My older son went to the movies with some friends yesterday and ended up seeing Bolt. He said it was very good.
