I don't think anyone has talked about it, but when B.B. wins Grammy number whatever, it will be very well deserved. One Kind Favor is a great recording.

It is indeed v. nice, but it's not the return to the old days that producer T-bone Burnett has claimed...

Well, I think most would agree its his best studio recording since Blues on the Bayou, before that was the first duets disc with other blues legends, and then about two decades of mediocre to OK LPs.

Does it stand up to his best work? Factoring in that he was 82 when it was recorded, I'd say it does.

i really like the Louie Jordan trib he did about 10 years (?) ago, but no one else seems to have noticed...

Actually I forgot about that one, and I definitely enjoyed it. Really his worst recordings are the duets with unworthy pop/pseudo blues singers.

Gets my vote. Course, I haven't heard the others in the category, but the Bley's a fine set of music.

There have been some pretty bad Grammy shows in recent years, but I thought this one hit a new low as far as music and production valu is concerned. Truly pathetic. The Grammy people have a knack for pulling artists from the shadows of obscurity and turning them into pitiful props for current non-talent. I felt sorry for Stevie Wonder.

I like a modicum of rap, but what they had on this evening was terrible. At one point it looked like they had emptied the trailer park, turned to Goodwill for costumes, and let the lot of them loose on stage without rehearsals.

I thought the recurrent teaming up "for the first time" never really worked, but Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (who ere not teamed up by NARAS) were a winning combination, in more ways than one.
