Ken Dryden Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I have just learned that drummer Tony Reedus died in Memphis. Tony was the nephew of the late pianist James Williams. Both of Tony's parents died young. I have not yet learned of the cause of death. Quote
Free For All Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Oh damn, that's awful! He was still a fairly young man. I sure have enjoyed his playing over the years, going back to the work he did w/Woody Shaw. Sad news. Rest in Peace. Quote
Peter Friedman Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Very sad news. Tony Reedus was a good drummer. I recall seeing him some time ago with Mulgrew Miller. Quote
mikeweil Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I can't believe it, but if his parents died young already ... Great, groovy drummer - I always liked him. R.I.P. Quote
relyles Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 That is a shock. I just heard him live a couple of weeks ago in Hartford playing with bassist Nat Reeves. My prayers go out to the family. Quote
