GA Russell Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 When this album first came out (in August of '64 as I recall), Al Hirt appeared at the downtown Maison Blanche department store to autograph copies, so I got mine inscribed. It said something like, "To GA, Al Hirt"! Quote
Larry Kart Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 This girl is holding a nice trumpet: This girl can play!!! http://www.tinethinghelseth.com/en/ The third movement of the Hummel! And she's so relaxed, no tension in her facial muscles at all. On the other hand, she ain't that pretty. Quote

Big Al Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Holy crap! She's the same age as my daughter! Now I feel like a dirty old man! You only feel like one? Which part of that question do you want me to answer? Quote
captainwrong Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 My father, who was a trumpet player, used to play this record a lot when I was growing up. Yet, it never occurred, even as a potty mouthed juvenile, to me that Mr. Hirt was also playing butt trumpet in this picture. I'll never look at this record the same again. My wife just asked me what I was laughing so hard about and I tried to explain it to her. She just rolled her eyes. Quote
JSngry Posted June 12, 2010 Author Report Posted June 12, 2010 Not a trumpet player, but how many album-cover fart threads do we need, really? Quote
