slide_advantage_redoux Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) I just purchased a 4 year old Takamine EA15N C (see link and pic). It is a cutaway dreadnaught with built in pickup and eq. Overall, this is a great guitar, especially for the price I paid. I don't own a dedicated acoustic amp (I hope to soon). My only gtr amp is a Roland JC 120. I run my Ibanez 2630 through it and it sounds great. What are the drawbacks of running a hollow body through a non-acoustic set up? Is it possible - or doable - to run it direct through my PA? Thanks! 7/4 Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 It should sound fine through a Roland JC 120. Those amps have a fairly flat frequency response, not unlike a PA. Guitar amps - like a Fender Princeton or a Champ - have the mids emphasized for that electric gtr tone. ... Quote
