Soulstation1 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 IMO Lakers have the big men to guard D-Howard IMO What did D-Howard have 1/2 field.goals? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Is that a new nickname? I've never heard it in all the years Kobe's been a Laker. Maybe 2/3 years Quote
BruceW Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Congrats on Black Mamba instilling will power in the rest of the Lakers and their victory. However, do not overlook the fact that Van Gundy made the same mistake that the Sacto Kings made. Allowed their star's ego obligations to sway Van Dummy into letting Nelson play. Stupid move. Orlando's whole chemistry was upset. Kings made same mistake by playing C.Webb after his long layoff; team chemistry disrupted; Kings lost, so will the Magic. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 The only stat you need Phil Jackson 43-0 after winning game # 1 Quote
Chalupa Posted June 5, 2009 Author Report Posted June 5, 2009 Randy Smith, R.I.P. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4233659 I used to love watching him play w/ McAdoo against the Baltimore Washington Bullets. Damn. Quote
Indestructible! Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Please, I beg of all you fine gentlemen and women... please stop saying Black Mamba. No one here in LA uses that nickname for Kobe, and lord knows Kobe is not worthy of it anyway. Please? Thank you for listening! Cheers, Shane Quote
Matthew Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Randy Smith, R.I.P. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4233659 I used to love watching him play w/ McAdoo against the Baltimore Washington Bullets. Damn. That is sad news, that Buffalo team wasn't too bad. One of my big Lakers memory as a kid is seeing Kermit Washington getting in a big fight with John Shumate(sp?). Buffalo was down by a ton when the fight happened, afterward, McAdoo and Smith went wild and they wound up winning the game. Isn't Jeff/SS1 from LA? He must be from LA, he roots for out-of-town teams! I kid SS1, I kid... Quote

No one here in LA uses that nickname for Kobe, and lord knows Kobe is not worthy of it anyway. I'd never heard of it until this thread actually. Kobe apparently coined it himself. I don't like self generated nicknames - reminds me of Michael Jackson declaring himself "King of Pop"... which he is most certainly not. Isn't Jeff/SS1 from LA? He lives in AZ. That address by his avatar is the address for Sanford & Son I believe. Quote

Soulstation1 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 I bet my house D Howard has more than one bucket in Game 2 They should pound it to him Mamba's kid calls him Grumpy because of his focus on this series Magic Johnson was the same way when it was Championship Time Quote
Matthew Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Great first quarter: 15 to 15. that's about as bad as it gets. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Anyone see 1 beginning of the game when Howard put his hand through the net and rim and blocked a shot and it wasn't called 2 looked like Gasol hit the rim at the end of the 4th quarter on the lob pass to Lee 3 The Mamba wiping his sweat on his daughters and one of them wiping it off in the tunnel after the game Funny Quote
Noj Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Awful game, I can't believe the Lakers won. Felt like a loss the whole time. Orlando is in serious trouble if they can't beat the Lakers on a night like this one. Kobe was crap and the Magic hit all sorts of tough shots. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Magic must of had 20 25 turnovers without looking at the final stats They had 8 in the first quarter Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 LOL Orlando had 20 turnovers in the game Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Dan Patrick was talking about Gasol hitting the rim on the final play of the 4th quarter I'm glad I am not the only one who noticed it PS Gasol beard looks freakin' itchy Quote

Chalupa Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 Why Johnny E is rooting for the Lakers Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 I thought once the ball was in the air a defensive player can not touch or hit the rim or backboard Ain't saying Gasol hit the rim hard but he touched it Magic lose tonight get out the brooms Maybe the Magic shot their wad beating the Cavs They can not make any outside shots other than Lewis in game 2 Quote
