sal Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 I am not imagining this. I just saw a commercial on the cable channel E! that was promoting the use of plastics (The Plastics Council of America, or something like that), and in the background, they were playing "Hat and Beard" from Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch!!!! I never thought I'd hear Eric Dolphy music in a corporate commercial. Quote
BruceH Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 The Buzzcocks, the Ramones...why not Eric Dolphy? Though that IS a bit 'out there.' In the end, there's nothing they can't trivialize in this way. Too bad Dolphy isn't still around to at least benefit from the royalties. Quote

But whoever owns the copyright to the music will receive royalties from its use. Quote
JSngry Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 MJQ Music, or whoever owns THEM now. The REAL money's in publishing, that's what I keep hearing... Quote
Brandon Burke Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 I saw it yesterday but it didn't sink in until the very last swell at the end of the ad. Who knew.....? Quote
DrJ Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 This was in a previous thread a while back...I think Aric was the first to pick up on it and post! Quote
