Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 I just got an E-mail from AUM Fidelity that they are offering William Parker's latest recording "Petit Oiseau" in a 2 LP set. Only 500 copies will be pressed. After about 10 minutes ago, there are only 499. BTW, the band on this date: William Parker - bass, cedar flute; Hamid Drake - drums, balafon & frame drum; Rob Brown - alto saxophone, B-flat clarinet and Lewis Barnes - trumpet, is the group that made "O'Neal's Porch" one of my favorite recordings of 2001. clifford_thornton Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Wonder how high-quality this is. I have one William Parker vinyl, Through Acceptance of the Mystery Peace, on Centering Records. It's good! Quote
captainwrong Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Heh. My one William Parker record is him and Matthew Shipp playing Summertime on a 7" and they had to split it up to part 1 & 2 like an old James Brown single. If I ever get a jukebox, it's going in there. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Along with your Ascension 45? Quote
captainwrong Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Yeah, it has the dance mix on the flip side. Quote
