7/4
Yes, "Song X" is a good one too. Frankly, keep your eyes out for it 'used'. I don't see them 'used' in every store, but they aren't that hard to find either. (It's not like most of your typical Pat Metheny fans really like "Song X" very much. Hell, I LOVE Ornette, and I have to admit that I really have to be in the right mood for "Song X" --- though I totally love it when I am in that mood.) Man, I wore it out when it came out. And it's been a while since I spun it. I've been in a blues/free jazz mode recently and it fits right in.
Joe G
Song X, Geffen B) A kick ass album. A classic. Right on Brother! I love the way Pat and Ornette play the head to Mob Job together. Such a bluesy cry. And there are sections of Endangered Species that are totally thrilling, when you're in the right mindspace.

I have a live show on cassete, I'll try to dig it out and see what it sounds like. I hope it's not wow and flutter hell. Remind me if I don't say anything in the next weeks. Did you ever check out the Pat Metheny Song Book? Kathelin Gray is in the book.
