I have one Billy Poole CD--Confessin' the Blues, a Riverside OJC. I thought she was pretty good, a nice record--she sounds, at least on Confessin' the Blues, more like an r and b singer than a jazz singer. I would probably buy another recording by her if I found one.

I have "Confessin' The Blues." I think that she is an enjoyable singer. She reminds me of Irma Thomas at times, only jazzier. That's meant as a compliment. She is not a major innovator, but an appealing stylist.

Just Another Singer to my ears. I've heard 'Confessin The Blues' in the past couple of years. The great underrated singer of the era to me was Lorez Alexandria.
