grey Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Bluerein, The PM failed twice so I'll place the response here. I have a copy of Ronnie Foster's Chesire Cat which was released in Japan on CD as TOCJ 6292. Unless you are a completist, I would not expend much energy looking for it. It is not impressive. It is that very late Blue Note period (1975) which includes vocals and schmaltz. Quote
jazzypaul Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 Blah, blah blah. Ronnie Foster might have been one of the coolest organists of his era, even if he was SADLY under-recorded. if you don't want it, shit, PM me and sell it to me. I'll admit, I haven't heard much of his solo output. But the stuff he did with Grant Green and George Benson spoke directly to my heart in a way that even the great Jimmy Smith never did (I know, sometimes there's no accounting for taste). Quote
Bluerein Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Thanks for the confirmation Grey. And indeed I'm sort of a completist so I'm not going to stop looking for it. I have a CD-r and the LP so I know what is played and how. Cheers, Reinier Quote
