marcello Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 That makes me remember a couple of things: First, is that Stan is the only soloists that i've seen that almost always kept his eyes open when he played. Second, is that once when he was playing in my hometown for at least a week (at a Ramada Inn of all places, with Albert Daily, George Mraz and Billy Hart), he was being bugged by some drunk traveling business man at the bar, which was close to the stage. Stan played Lush Life I think in a effort to cool the lame out and he was magnificent! The drunk was unmoved though and yelled "That was very poignant!!" I thought Stan was going to come off the stage and kick his ass. That band was a killer! Quote
