vajerzy Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 On the home page of the pool- click on Options (between standings and help), then choose Personal, then under Your Name, enter your screen name- in your case Van Basten, then click ok. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 My picks are in as well. Had to make a new password as I had apparently registered a few years ago. Try to use your board names so we know who you are. Quote

Aggie87 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Made my picks! Prepare to mock me as I totally blow this... Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Is there a place in there to taunt each other, or is that better to do here? I'm already laughing at Conn either way. Quote
vajerzy Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 (edited) There's a message board- all posts will be sent to your email box as well, unless you wish to disable that feature. Final question for Conn the Commish: which method of picks do you want- 1st method means once the first game starts (Thursday games) you can't make any picks for the week; 2nd method means once the first game starts (Thursdays games) you won't get credit for the Thursday game but you have until Noon Sunday to pick the rest of the games: One hour before week's first game: If the first game is on a Sunday, you will have till Noon Eastern to make your selection. If there is a Thursday game, you have until 7:30pm Eastern. One hour before day's first game: This setting will allow owners to make picks even if games have already started for the week. For example, if there is a Thursday night game and an owner did not realize it. He or She could still make picks for the remaining games. Of course they would not get points for the games that they have missed. The final deadline would be Noon on Sunday. Edited September 3, 2008 by vajerzy Quote

I see your real name- use the directions provided a few posts ago and change your screen name- I changed my screen name to Van Basten last night just to see if the site took it- it worked ok- I changed it back to my screen name. Last year, Nojjy missed a week and we gave him the average results for that week. Sometimes people forget. If they do, they will be penalized; but at least they can still stay and play in the pool. Aggie87 Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 I noticed when I "view picks" there's a big "F" next to my name. Does that stand for FAIL? Quote
vajerzy Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 I changed the rules to be more forgiving and fun- keeping in the spirit what Conn said in his last post. Is this ok with you all? Scoring: • Pool includes all NFL games. • Players who do not make picks, will receive one fewer point than the player who had the lowest correct picks score for the week. Deadline: • Pick deadline is one hour before each day's first game. This means that you can make picks up until one hour before games in weeks that have games that start before Sunday. If there is a Thursday game, you can still make picks for Sunday's games up until one hour before kickoff, even if you missed the Thursday game deadline Quote
vajerzy Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 BTW- you can go back and change your picks before kickoff, if you wish- go to "make picks" change whatever you wish- then save changes. Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 • Players who do not make picks, will receive one fewer point than the player who had the lowest correct picks score for the week. I'm all over that - means I can get SOME points instead of none! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 (edited) I am up for using the total points for the MNF game as a tie breaker for the weekly winner This week we can use the Oakland and Denver game Thanks for setting up site Edited September 4, 2008 by Soulstation1 Quote
vajerzy Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Your welcome! Glad to do it. If there's 2 MNF games- the latest one is the one for total points. I can see total points to break ties if a prize is awarded every week, otherwise it doesn't matter. I'll do whatever you guys want done. I can always change it next week if people want a change. connoisseur series500 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) I don't care about weekly winners. The real prize lies in the ultimate winner at the end of the playoffs. Problem with picking points is that it adds extra thinking time when we make our picks. But I WILL go along with whatever the majority (or the most vocal) want. I like to keep things SIMPLE and manageable over the long run. It's a long season and you will see people drop out or miss weekly picks if it demands too much of their time. I've been involved in this poll from beginning to end for the last three seasons now. It's the reality of it. How do we know what the latest Monday night game is? Is it indicated when we make our picks? Edited September 5, 2008 by connoisseur series500 Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 Thanks for setting up site Yes, thanks also. Quote
vajerzy Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Question: How do we know what the latest Monday night game is? Is it indicated when we make our picks? Answer: It's the game with the latest start time. It's also the game that is listed last when you're doing your picks- I believe there's no MNF during week 17 so it would be the last game listed. Soulstation1 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 DAMN i'm one game behind everyone my season's shot Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 5, 2008 Author Report Posted September 5, 2008 I don't know how to add tiebreaker points for the Monday evening game. Do we start this on week 2 then? Quote
vajerzy Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I don't know how to add tiebreaker points for the Monday evening game. Do we start this on week 2 then? I disabled total points for MNF because we're not giving a weekly prize. I can enable it for week 2 if people want- that will give bragging rights for who won the most weeks. Whatever you gentlemen wish- Quote
Soulstation1 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 mark me down for using the pts on the MNF game Quote
