Simon Hunt Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Hi Folks, I'm curious if anybody knows anything about this Bobby Hutcherson session : from : http://www.jazzdisco.org/bluenote/1971-dis/c/ " Bobby Hutcherson Quartet Bobby Hutcherson (vib, mar) Todd Cochran (p, el-p) James Leary (b) Michael Carvin (d) United Artists Studios, Los Angeles, CA, May 24, 1972 Blue Note rejected Poem Unga B's Thang Mr. X Twenty-Five " "Blue Note rejected" is written where release details are usually provided, so clearly an unreleased session. I was wondering if anyone has any information about this session - why it was rejected, whether any of the music saw subsequent release in another form etc (seemingly not). Session is not listed at either of the Bobby Hutcherson discographies I checked : http://www.musicweb-international.com/jazz...erson/index.htm and http://www.geocities.com/bobbyhutchersonjazz/ Have written to the two compilers concerned, one replied that he hadn't heard of the session. Anyway, any help greatly appreciated! Thanks, Simon Quote
Simon Hunt Posted August 9, 2008 Author Report Posted August 9, 2008 ... and have now emailed the jazz discography people to ask the source of the information. It would seem to me that "Twenty Five" is probably the James Leary composition recorded on George Dukes "Inner Source". And that "B Thang" might be a "Little B" version .. Anyway, as you were Quote
