Peter Johnson
Here's my vote for Stefon Harris' "Grand Unification Theory," a tremendous release from early this year which continues to see my CD player on a regular basis. .:.impossible
Here's my vote for Stefon Harris' "Grand Unification Theory," a tremendous release from early this year which continues to see my CD player on a regular basis. Peter, I received this for free through BMG and I'm upset that I used one of my free CD picks on it. It makes my skin crawl. And all that production... Can you talk a little bit about what you like about it. Maybe I can listen again with certain positive elements in mind. Thanks.

Muskrat Ramble
Another vote for Mode for Joe under the reissue category. Outstanding album, but that should come as no surprise, considering who's involved: Henderson, Morgan, Fuller, Hutcherson, Cedar Walton, Ron Carter, and Joe Chambers. "Caribbean Fire Dance" is one of the hardest-swinging jazz performances I've ever heard. It almost set my speakers on fire.
