Degiorgio Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 just a heads up on my in-depth article on Herbie Hancock's Warner Bros period (1969-1972), in the latest issue of Wax Poetics magazine. enjoy! WAX POETICS ISSUE 29 KD Quote
JSngry Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Been meaning to post a heads-up on this for a few weeks now. A fine article indeed, and highly recommended! Also in the same issue is a nice piece about Sam Rivers that, although a bit sloppy from the "fact-check" angle, nevertheless is a nice read and, through intervirews, reveals some interesting facts about Sam's life, such as how he also owned & operated ran a successful telephone answering service in NY during & after the Rivbea days. All in all, a nice read of a consistently never-less-than-interesting magazine. Quote
ghost of miles Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Missed this thread--just picked up the issue today and came here to post about the great Hancock article, with no idea that it had been penned by a board member. Fantastic work! Made me pull out the Warner CD anthology reissue for another spin. Dug the articles on Rivers and Lalo Schifrin as well. Quote
