bichos Posted July 25, 2011 Report Posted July 25, 2011 thank you all for the wishes! i heard some woody herman discs yesterday on the "first heard" label and was again surprised and enthusiasmed about the absolute good sound quality of this 1948 performances (it is the "rhapsody in wood" lp, fh-29)! also heard the day/night before phil schaap´s traditions in swing broadcast. he played records from the pianist freddie johnson/arthur briggs´ all star orchestra and johnsons´ harlemites. now i´m looking for this recordings. beside an "tax"-lp, are these swinging recordings avaiable on cd? thanks and keep boppin´ marcel Quote
