Rosco Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 The latest version of Firefox came out yesterday. Anyone using it yet? Thoughts and impressions? I'm just about to install.... Quote
7/4 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 It upgraded its self and I didn't even notice... . Quote
AllenLowe Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 much better than Internet Explorer - though I'm still on 2.98 Quote
Robert J Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Sleek and quick. Bookmarks and history are better displayed now with icons and a description of links in the browser url field. Have not looked at the toys/addons yet. RSS feed reader still kicks IE's ass. Quote
andybleaden Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I have been testing the test version for a while now and I am quite impressed but I alway have been with firefox. I have had it now for years as I hate IE( have to use it sometimes at work when the suits are watching as we are not supposed to install it. IE has always been difficult to use , full of problems, no tab browsing, pop up hell and just so clunky. Mozilla need a pat on the back for this. The linux version which I use is really really good and better even than the windows on I use at work Quote
porcy62 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Another vote for Firefox, I used it since day one, and I am using F. 3 right now. Quote
Uncle Skid Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I just upgraded... looks good. Step two: install the Adblock Plus add-on. Quote
7/4 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 And I have browser envy. I have 3.0 and I want that upgrade buzz. I didn't even notice when it happened, it was so different. . Quote

AllenLowe Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 mine performs unnatural acts- now up to 5.0 - this thing is starting to multiply - Quote
Robert J Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Another think I like about FF is more of a geek thing. As a web producer I am always looking under the hood of the sites I work on and to see what other people are doing (playing?) with theirs. If you view the page source code, it displays the format nice and in colour so I can sort through the html and javascript - not in notepad like IE. Quote

porcy62 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Allen, at your age you should be careful with Viagra. Quote
aparxa Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I don't like the Keep-up-to-date-all-the-time school, but I've never been disappointed by FF. No doubt I will upgrade to 3.0 when the extensions I need are available. Quote
7/4 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 the search window has shrunk a bit? it'll take a while getting used to the little doodads on the left hand side and the history search has changed pretty dramatically... What little doodads you talkin' 'bout? I ain't got no doodads. Quote
7/4 Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Now 7/4 has tool bar envy......methinks you have a different operating system than 7/4. . Quote
GA Russell Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I find the Organize Bookmarks set up more difficult to comprehend than the old one. Quote
7/4 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I find the Organize Bookmarks set up more difficult to comprehend than the old one. It looks the same to me. Did you folks upgrade from version 1.001 maybe? . Quote
BruceH Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I like the old Firefox. But then, I tend to like the "old" everything... Quote
