If and when you can, just get the first five or so BN albums. They are all excellent, and all exist in TOCJ form, as well as most being on the new 3 CD set. (I haven't heard the sound on that set, as I already have all the Patton BNs as TOCJs.)

For those interested in Harold Alexander, and Jazz Funk in general, you should check out "Sunshine Man" on Flying Dutchman. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly mine and it has a nice steady groove. No new ground broken here, but for those interested in the genre, I would probably rank it as important, but not essential.
