Each level has a limited number of needed participants, so get in on the action now! Unfortunately we're under a big time crunch, so if you want to do Levels 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 you'll need to do so before June 21st in order to get your name in the CD artwork. I have to send the disc to the duplicator that following Monday at the latest in order to make our deadline. Here's hoping that we'll get some fans who want to see organissimo perform in their own home! We don't take up too much room and I promise that Randy is potty-trained. Here is the cover art as it stands right now. The record is tentatively titled "Current", although that might change before printing. We finish mastering this Saturday. I will update this post with links to some mp3 samples by late Sunday evening. Enjoy!

7/4
That's a really cool cover Jim. .
Jim Alfredson
Thanks, 7/4. Jim Colando and I poured over hundreds of images. He's an incredibly talented photographer and happens to be the last client my dad and I visited for a piano tuning, just days before my dad passed away. My dad wanted to introduce me to Jim because of his photography and he thought we'd hit it off. Indeed we did. Another gift from my dad. Anyway, thanks to Bright Moments for being the first official patron! (Rooster donated $200 a few months ago, but did so with the expectation of getting some cover tunes done. Ah... he'll still get his name in the new CD and a few signed copies!) Hopefully you won't be the last! If anyone knows someone who's throwing a huge graduation party / bash or other such get-together and they want a kick-ass funky jazz trio, send them our way! They can get some great music and support independent music releases at the same time! Bonus. Here's another shot of the cover art with the front cover on the right and the back cover on the left. The packaging will be a six panel digipak decorated with Jim Colando's images. It looks really slick. Again, the title is temporary; it will probably change. We're still discussing that. Get on it! Ron S
I think the CD title should be "Groovadelphia."
Aggie87
The artwork looks great - I am convinced there's something moving in there, optical illusion or something! Looking forward to this one - way to go Jim, Joe & Randy!
BeBop
Looking forward to this one...just like I was looking forward to the previous CD, I s'pose. How'd I miss the Arno Marsh connection up until now?

Dan Gould
I may be the only one, but in all honesty, I do not care for the cover. I know I'll love the music, but ... (is there a smilie for someone who wants to hold an umbrella over his head during a shit storm?)
jazzypaul
I may be the only one, but in all honesty, I do not care for the cover. I know I'll love the music, but ... (is there a smilie for someone who wants to hold an umbrella over his head during a shit storm?) for probably the first time in the entire time I've been on this board, I agree with Dan about something. Who's writing the liner notes?
Jim Alfredson
It's ok. You can't please everyone all the time. The music is great, I guarantee. Thanks to those who've signed up so far. Let's keep it rolling. Support the band and thus the forums and get something really good in return! ArtistShare ain't got nuthin' on us! I'm still working the bugs out of the software, so if you have any questions or concerns at all, don't hesistate to contact me.

AllenLowe
is this recorded on your Scully?
Jim Alfredson
No, the Scully is still not 100% up and running. However, it was recorded using mainly vintage transformer based pre-amps (Quad Eight) and has a really warm sound. And it was mixed through the Neve 8068 at Glenn Brown's studio. I'll post samples on Sunday. It sounds killer. If you missed the thread about the recording process, it's here: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...t=0&start=0 As far as liner notes, I wrote some brief notes on the process. Joe G
I understand that Jim Colando's artwork has graced album covers of Roscoe Mitchell and Gary Burton. Not sure what titles those would be.
.:.impossible
Reminds me of one of those Legends of Acid Jazz covers. Any chance you will be using metallic inks? I'm a patron. Looking forward to hearing it!

Clunky
The cover looks great, distinctive.......... and a brave choice with no pic of the band smiling to lure in prospective purchasers.
Ron S
I think the CD title should be "Groovadelphia." That's what I said too.. Well, it WOULD help us get some serious radio promotion in Philly. (And, you GOTTA have a title track. ) Guess it's time to put my money where my mouth is and become a patron. The Magnificent Goldberg
I'm in. I don't like the sleeve much. But, with that sleeve, I feel that "If not now, when?" is a better title. And makes the cover better, too. MG
