Brad Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 This was discussed a few weeks ago in Dan's Blindfold Test Number 2. This is slated for release today on the Quicksilver label, according to Alan's site, although the link to CD Universe leads you to a Collectables release. Anyway, it's already backordered. Damn! Quote
Dan Gould Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Well, that's great news (the reissue, not the backorder) because it is a fine album. Quote
DrJ Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 I posted this in Dan's thread about whether the tests have lead anyone to purchase anything, but figured I'd put it here too in case people don't participate in that discussion: The reissue of MAD ABOUT TADD is not due out until 11/15 according to the Quicksilver Records Web site: Mad About Tadd You can order it directly from them. I just advance ordered a copy, $12.98. Quote
Brad Posted October 21, 2003 Author Report Posted October 21, 2003 Tony, Thanks for posting that. I had no idea Quicksilver had a web site. I've just put in my order and really look forward to getting it. I've loved Tadd ever since I was exposed to him. A favorite of mine is the Barry Harris recording that he did for Xanadu, which I was able to get a few months ago. Quote
Brad Posted November 11, 2003 Author Report Posted November 11, 2003 Just a reminder, this is slated for reissue today by Quicksilver. A must, I believe, for any Tadd fans. It's available from Quicksilver directly for $12.98 (includes shipping). Quote
DrJ Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I'm hoping my pre-ordered copy is in the mail to me as we speak! Quote
Brad Posted November 11, 2003 Author Report Posted November 11, 2003 Ditto! Actually, the email I received back in October said the 15th but maybe they're giving themselves 3 days to mail. Quote
Brad Posted November 19, 2003 Author Report Posted November 19, 2003 According to the Quicksilver web site, this has been delayed until 2004. Bummer Quote
DrJ Posted November 19, 2003 Report Posted November 19, 2003 WHAAAT? What a bummer! Man...I will drop them an e-mail (they sent me one when I ordered) to confirm this is true...sure hope not! Quote
Brad Posted November 19, 2003 Author Report Posted November 19, 2003 Tony, I received an email from them last night, saying that they should start shipping in about 10 days. Quote
DrJ Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 You beat me to it - I e-mailed them a few days ago and got the same basic message, but have been swamped and didn't get time to post here. Anyway - GREAT NEWS, eh? Quote
Brad Posted November 23, 2003 Author Report Posted November 23, 2003 Indeed, that is great news. But are we the only two interested in hearing some Tadd. Seems like we have this thread to ourselves. Quote
Spontooneous Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Ahh, no. You're not the only ones interested. My ex-wife got really tired of hearing "Mad About Tadd" on vinyl. Still got the LP. Love that arrangement of "If You Could See Me Now." The ex was really tired of the Philly Joe/Dameronia "Look, Stop and Listen" date too. Still waiting for that one on CD. Quote
Brad Posted November 30, 2003 Author Report Posted November 30, 2003 Well, that makes 3. Release date is now listed on their site as December 3. Quote
James Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 (edited) Well, this is good news to me since I ordered the Continuum disc as well. What I find distressing is that Lanny Morgan's "It's About Time" has not arrived, nor is it now listed as back-ordered, nor has QuickSilver responded to my queries. Brad Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) Folks, I got my copy of this last night. YES!!! If you're into Tadd, you gotta get this. Heck, if you're into jazz, you gotta get this. Get this CD! Edited December 9, 2003 by Brad Quote
Dan Gould Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Now aren't you glad you got to hear a cut ahead of time on my BF CD? Quote
Brad Posted December 9, 2003 Author Report Posted December 9, 2003 You're darn tootin! That makes two purchases on my part from your BF test. I better go back and check to see if there's some more stuff that I should be getting Quote
DrJ Posted December 10, 2003 Report Posted December 10, 2003 Dan, I am happy to attribute this purchase to your BF disk...got mine last Saturday, and it's a winner from start to finish. Quote
