Son-of-a-Weizen
Noticed a number of ebay vendors selling multiple copies for $1 plus the usual inflated shipping. The title track I heard over at the Hicks website sounds like a major winner and puts it in the no brainer category for $1 (plus). Anyone own this? Just curious about the amount of flute that's on the remaining tracks? .....also, is that David Murray 'Song for Aunt Louise' cd w/Hicks ever floating around, or is it in the 'rare as hen's teeth' category? JohnS
Those DIWs are hard to find these days. Two or three Murray titles are still listed at Cadence. Both the duo with Hicks, Sketches of Tokyo and For Aunt Louise are nice albums.
randyhersom
eMusic has all of the David Murray DIWs for download including Songs for Aunt Louise.
Spontooneous
In the interest of clarity: "In the Mix" was on Landmark, not DIW. It's decent, not great, but easily worth a buck
Hot Ptah
It's a good, solid John Hicks album. I think that "Inc.1" on DIW is the best one he ever released, and "In the Mix" is not on that level. "In the Mix" is definitely worth owning though.
Tom in RI
I was just looking at these, shipping from the vendors offering this disc are $5.95 - $6.99, isn't that a bit high? Certainly much higher than shipping charges from Amazon vendors.

Certainly much higher than shipping charges from Amazon vendors. That's not so unusual with ebay. Many sellers seem to make their living on the shipping costs. One ebay seller I buy regularly from charges $5 for the first CD, then $1 for each additional CD in the same shipment.

That emusic suggestion re: the Murray 'Louise' cd seems like the way to go.
