Van Basten II Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 http://www.antimusic.com/news/08/april/23J..._Yourself.shtml Can't say that i have listened yet to the samples offered here, but there was an available track in the free cd offered by the french mag Les Inrockuptibles a few weeks ago, thought it was intriguing, then again i'm a sucker for actresses who put their voices to music. So, what's the verdict ? Quote
Dave James Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Not sure about her music, but I'd sure buy that sweater right off her back. Up over and out. Quote
Alexander Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I am interested in the fact that she chose to do an album of Tom Waits covers. As a Waits fan, I might have to check it out. Quote
GA Russell Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 So, what's the verdict ? Looks like she's an Edmonton Eskimos fan! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I'd certainly buy a CD from her, so long as it wasn't one OF her. MG Quote

Claude Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I'm a big Tom Waits fan, and I found her cover of "Falling Down" dull and unremarkable. I'm looking forward to the new Woody Allen comedy, with Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, presented today at the Cannes Film Festival. Quote

Yep, I agree on both, though the late Allen's movies aren't such great IMO. Never dull? Yes. Enjoyable? Yes, but not great. Quote
Larry Kart Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 So nice the way the right side of the sweater is taped to just the right place on her chest, almost but not quite. Is there a name for the people who do that kind of work? It can't be easy. Seriously, I had no idea that Johansson was that breasty. Quote

JSngry Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 What style of socks are those, and where can you buy them? Quote
Dan Gould Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Seriously, I had no idea that Johansson was that breasty. I didn't think it was possible not to. Quote
GA Russell Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Seriously, I had no idea that Johansson was that breasty. I can top you in the clueless department, Larry! I didn't know it was her. Quote
Larry Kart Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Seriously, I had no idea that Johansson was that breasty. I didn't think it was possible not to. Well, this side of Dolly Parton, I never really know for sure (given the wonders of modern garment technology) until I actually see them, and I don't recall seeing that much of Johanssen before. rostasi Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 This was my avatar for two months and the background to my "what are you listening to" track listing on-and-off for 6 months and you are just now noticing this? Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Aren't those Ray Nitschke's tube socks!? Quote
JSngry Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I really want to buy some of those socks (they're not "leggings" are they?) for LTB. Seriously. Quote

Alexander Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I listened to some samples. Her voice is okay, certainly not great by any standard. What really makes this record such a drag (and least on the few tracks I heard) are the limp arrangements. If she's going to sing everything in a low monotone, at least jazz up the arrangement! Quote
Larry Kart Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Seriously, I had no idea that Johansson was that breasty. I didn't think it was possible not to. OK, but I don't recall her looking quite that way in the movies I've seen her in ("Lost in Translation" and some others whose names I don't recall). Quote

medjuck Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) When I opened this thread there was a notice at the bottom of some of the postings that said I was using a MAC and Safari, gave my ip address and said that Van Basten knew about it. I tried to copy the note it into this post but couldn't. What the fuck is that all about? Edited May 18, 2008 by medjuck Quote
