These seem to be the Laserlight/Delta Music reissues that were released a couple of years ago

Right, and they were out earlier on Europe1 before they were out on Laserlight/Delta.

A number of Europe1 2 CD releases reappeared as individual titles on the Malaco label a few years ago. I particularly got a kick out of Joe Zawinul's "Rumplestilskin" being misidentified on both labels as "Rufus Still Skinned."

I have the 2 CD set of Jimmy Smith at Salle Pleyel, in 1965, some of which was originally issued on Metro. Great music, but the sound is pretty awful. I'm sure the Metro issue wouldn't have been like that. Any likelihood of a better-sounding issue?

I think they've used the original French Radio tapes for these issues so I guess the sound is as it is and the Metro just used these too so no better version exists. The Metro Village gate isn't that great sounding imo.

Ah, the Hamburg Metro is a good bit better, I think.
