jazzbo Posted November 7, 2019 Author Report Posted November 7, 2019 Just listened to this on Billie Holiday "Songs for Distingue Lovers" Verve/Classic Records cd. OMG. I love Jimmy Rowles with Billie and what a band and what arrangements and what playing and singing. And this is one of the most wonderful sounding cds of fifties music I have. Quote

duaneiac Posted November 22, 2019 Report Posted November 22, 2019 I've been playing the new Bruce Springsteen CD over and over this week. This is really a masterpiece album for him. It's hard to pick one favorite track as there is not a throw-away or weak song in the bunch, but if I had to choose one, this album concluding song simply wows me every time: Quote

stephenrr Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 I'm sorry to admit that I've been totally oblivious to the music of Joe Henry. I've got the passion of a new convert. His new album, "The Gospel According to Water" is revelatory. I'm gobsmacked. Just bought seats to see him in Chicago in February and I'm so excited I can't sit still! Quote
