John Tapscott Posted February 17, 2017 Report Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) A terrific arrangement of Tyner's "Search for Peace" with a great Pete Christlieb solo from this very fine CD by this very fine K.C. band. Some great playing here (and of course, K.C. has a great big band tradition). Also a very swinging arrangement here of Shorter's "Black Nile" by former org participant Free for All (Paul McKee) who has a fine solo on the track along with Christlieb. Peter Friedman Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 I am a sucker for slow or medium tempo blues. The tune "Soul-Lo Blues" on this very good CD fits the bill perfectly. Clifford Jordan shows some influence from Sonny Rollins in his fine solo. Art Farmer and Sonny Clark follow with terrific solos too. Quote
