Jim Alfredson Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 I had to play last night, so I didn't get to the hospital today until about 11:30am. Just got back... taking Zora off my poor mother-in-law's hands (Zora is pretty excited and is acting out already). So we're back home, chilling for a bit. The doctors seem to think that Alison and the new little one can come home tomorrow (hopefully!) Here's a couple more pics. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 Oh, by the way, Zora gave herself a haircut this morning at grandma's. That's why her bangs are basically gone. She got right down to the scalp, with kids' scissors. Quote
Joe G Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Great shots. Had a short visit at the hospital this morning; that is one pretty baby! Congratulations Jim and Alison. I'm proud to call both of you my friends, and I'm always happy to see good things come into your lives. ~j. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 The happy family! I see she came with a remote. That'll come in handy. Quote
Free For All Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Just got home and saw this. Congrats, Jim and Alison! Looks like Jim will be surrounded by the ladies! Quote

patricia Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) Today at 1:07pm, my wife gave birth to another beautiful little girl. 7lbs, 6oz and 20 inches long with lots of dark hair! We have not decided on a name yet, but we will soon. She is just wonderful, though and I am overjoyed! Both momma and baby are doing great! We knew my wife had to have a c-section this time. Last time she was in labor for 24 hours before they did an emergency c-section. This time was much easier and Alison is already doing so much better in the recovery. Here's a couple shots of the new little peanut! WOW!! She's a beauty. Congratulations Jim and most especially to your wife. Also, pay particular attention to Zora at this stressful time for her, even though she loves her new little sister. My daughters are 6 years apart and it's quite traumatic for the first child going from being kid-on-the-hill to an also-ran, even if it's just a perception problem for them. Sometimes people do walk right past the oldest as if they are invisible to get a look at the new baby. Spend time with Zora. She'll thank you for it later. Edited April 21, 2008 by patricia Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Lovely photos, you are indeed blessed, as I'm sure you know. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 21, 2008 Author Report Posted April 21, 2008 Thanks everybody, and thank you Patricia. I've already found myself getting a bit impatient with Zora and I have to remind myself that this is as stressful for her as it is for me and Alison. Zora giving herself a haircut might be a symptom of that! We have decided on a name: Stella Josephine Alfredson It appears she has hip dysplasia in both hips. It runs in the family; Alison's eldest sister had it but back then they went straight into surgery. These days they will most likely just put her in a Pavlik Harness for a few weeks. I feel much better talking to GregN because his daughter had the same thing and she is 10 now and just fine. Hopefully momma and baby will be home today! Quote
AllenLowe Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) as long as she doesn't try to give the new baby a haircut you're ok - I'd come visit but I remember when my aunt had a new baby and every time she saw my father she screamed - I'm afraid it may run in the family - I like babies - and I've come to the conclusion in my old age, finally, that families are good - congrats, Jim and Alison - Edited April 21, 2008 by AllenLowe Quote
