Rabshakeh Posted May 25, 2021 Report Posted May 25, 2021 I note that Black Saint has just been re-released on a German label called "Our Swimmer". Does anyone know anything about it? Is it a boot? Quote
BFrank Posted May 26, 2021 Report Posted May 26, 2021 Friday, Saturday, Sunday - The Cookers are streaming from the Keystone Korner in Baltimore Quote
cliffpeterson Posted May 26, 2021 Report Posted May 26, 2021 Saw The Cookers this past Saturday at The Falcon in Marlboro. Showed signs of lack of playing together-the unison reed and brass playing was not a little off-not so the rhythm. The solos were great. 3 players at least 80 years old. Quote
Pim Posted May 26, 2021 Report Posted May 26, 2021 Both concerts in Holland got cancelled. The first in march 2020, the postponed in 2021 also. Really makes me sad as it could be a last opportunity to see these guys live... Quote
erwbol Posted May 26, 2021 Report Posted May 26, 2021 There are/were some very good Cookers boots on Dimeadozen if its any consolation, Pim. Quote
Pim Posted May 26, 2021 Report Posted May 26, 2021 Thanks! But for me it really is about caputring the guys in real life. Quote
mjazzg Posted September 14, 2021 Report Posted September 14, 2021 Of interest to resident BH fans perhaps Quote

I frequently clear its entire cache (+cookies, etc), which seems to zero out counters of allowed articles. Some sites have hard paywalls (no freebies allowed), in which case this doesn't work, but many allow access to 1 to 5 articles before enforcing the paywall. I just read the article, which would have been paywalled for me on Chrome (my usual browser), that way. Edited January 21, 2023 by T.D. Quote
Pim Posted January 21, 2023 Report Posted January 21, 2023 Thanks for sharing. Still hoping for a European tour here… I would definitely travel to Belgium or Germany to capture him live. I didn’t knew he had an 11 year old daughter 😲 Quote

Obviously his wife is pretty youngish. I'm going to see the Cookers in a month or so here. Had no idea he was 80. I hope I look like that when I'm 80. Quote

I saw BH live when he was 75 and was stunned at how young he looked (didn't even have gray hair then iirc). Quote
BFrank Posted January 22, 2023 Report Posted January 22, 2023 I was surprised to read about the 11 year-old, too. Best of luck to them! Planning to see the Cookers in March. Haven't seen them in a while, but always great to see that group of legends. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted January 24, 2023 Report Posted January 24, 2023 Anybody ever find that 66 footage? Would be interested to see/hear it. Count me in as a BH fan too. Quote
