By our very own Alan Lankin, taking at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 2007. Fun times!

The recording is going well. We've got two more days scheduled next week. But first a gig with Johnny E and the Reptet tomorrow night! :)

Nah, for real... I found a good deal on one and I might go get it in Detroit this week. I've always wanted a real analog synth and there are a few places on the new CD I'd like to use it. I actually recorded the MIDI out from the XK System just in case I wanted to re-record another synth playing some of the parts.

Maybe you can get one of these in time for recording sessions:

Ha! I love it! Nice photoshop work!

We finished tracking on Friday. Now we'll be taking some time to mix and master. In May we'll probably open the pre-orders up. I'm very proud of the tunes and the playing. I think the vibe is much better than the last two, as well, due to recording all together, no headphones. There's something to say for mic bleed; it adds a natural-ness to the sound.

Anyway... more to come.

I just realized I had not posted pics of my new Moog here in the thread. And yes, it's being utilized (tastefully) on the new tracks.

And here's a shot of the Moog at our last Founders gig a few weeks ago. My cell phone takes shit-tastic pics, but you get the idea.

Moog madness!

I saw Randy last night, with a CD-R in hand... I contemplated grabbing it and running!;)

Seriously, looking forward to hearing the new tunes. What I heard live a few weeks ago sounded great!

Yeah, ran into Mark at the music store after lessons and he had that look in his eyes like he was going to grab it and run!:lol:

That's a lot of gig to take on gigs. Face it Jim, it's all about pianos ;)

Yep. Just fold that Rhodes under yer arm and it's off to the gig.

Hey, how 'bout an update?

Just looking at your upcoming gigs and see several CD Release shows in July. That's, like, next month. So....

Do I need to head to Kalamazoo?

Well, I'm hoping to have the preoder page up and running later today. There are 8 levels of participation. We're hoping to raise enough money to cover the production / duplication costs + radio promo (about $7000). None of us are in a position to put any of this on a credit card, so if we can't raise the money, I'm not sure what we'll do.

We finally paid off the balance for the past two CDs just this week, which means any sales from here on out are actually profit!!! Amazing! It only took 5 years!

But we're not exactly selling them like hotcakes.

So, anyway... look for a new thread with the information later today / tonight.

Jim,

if you didn't pay the hosting company in advance, I'm sure no one here would object to a re-direct of the remaining cash from last year's fund raising effort toward the CD expenses. Then we can plan on an October fund raiser to cover next year.
