Kari S Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Yes, the BN LP does not have those tracks. F*ck. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I've never heard Big John's playing on that Zorn 'The Big Gundown' album though. Anyone have any thoughts on his playing on this one? (I think he's given a walk-on role on 'Two Lane Highway'). That track on the 'Gundown' album is "Erotico (The Burglars)" featuring most prominently Shelly Hirsch warbl-lizing in pained ecstacy over Frisell's dog killer guitar. Patton is coloring the whole thing and creating an acutal groove in spite of it all. Most certainly worth at least hearing along with the title track. Now "Two Lane Highway" is another story! "Big" John is more than just a Jersey barrier and his grease tossing with Albert Collins halfway through the trip is well worth the toll fare. Horvitz holds down the roadhouse pretty well on this, too. Quote
sidewinder Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Thanks ! I'll check it out. Oh - 'Two Lane Highway'. Now why did I think of three?. Quote
