grey Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 Toshiba-EMI had scheduled the reissue of 48 JRVG titles from TOCJ 9014 (Bass On Top) to TOCJ 9097 (Bossa Nova Bacchanal) between September 26 and November 27. All of the titles were released simultaneously on September 26. No reason was given for the change in release dates or why all of the titles were released together. Quote
Shrdlu Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 I wonder why they don't keep these and the "Blue Note Works" CDs always in print. They could achieve this by pressing a good number of them upfront. It is clear that there is a lot of interest in them. Quote
David Ayers Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 Maybe we will see rolling reissues of batches of these. Is anyone aware of plans to reissue titles after these 48? Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted September 28, 2003 Report Posted September 28, 2003 I just picked up three of them at Dusty Groove: Duke Pearson, "Profile," "Tender Feelin's" and Grant Green, "Goin West." Personally, I'm happy they reissued them ahead of time. Saves me a little shipping. Quote
grey Posted September 28, 2003 Author Report Posted September 28, 2003 David Ayers, Toshiba-EMI reissued 20 JRVG titles between TOCJ 9001 and TOCJ 9029 last June. There are plans to reissue titles after TOCJ 9100 but there are no firm dates. CS 500, Goin' West is not a JRVG reissue but part of the current 100 new JRVG titles being released between June 2003 and March 2004. This does become complicated. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 Scrawled thru Dusty Groove and see they have raised the prices of these newest issues to $27. Yikes!! They are now about ten bucks more than Hiroshi, with shipping, for just two discs and it goes up from there. Buyer beware! early records Quote
Shrdlu Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 How about Red Trumpet's price for "Goin' West" - in the thirties!! (Dusty's seems to have run out of it.) Quote

Not too happy about it. They seemed to have increased their prices by $2 as they sold for $24.99 last month. I'm fond of Dusty's but Hiroshi is probably the man to see now. Didn't think "Goin West" would last very long at Dusty's. People are staaaarvin for this one! Quote
David Ayers Posted September 30, 2003 Report Posted September 30, 2003 I think the price change is due to the exchange rate. Quote
