RedPalm Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 There's an awesome site for bebop fans http://bopland.org with a collection of great phrases played over common chord progressions. Quote
Niko Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 before a bunch of people come here claiming that learning to improvise this way can only lead to boring unimaginative results... i really like the design of the page and enjoyed clicking around on it quite a bit! Quote

Lazaro Vega Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 I can't get it to work. What needs to be entered in the "changes" area? Song titles or chord letters? Quote
Joe G Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Just underneath that box is a link which reads "How to find examples". Click on that, and you'll get a series of different chord progressions. Underneath those are links for search results. Quote
Lazaro Vega Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 (edited) Thanks Joe. What's the symbol with "B" and a triangle mean? Major? And if it is a triad, what letters consitute the B triad? Edited March 8, 2008 by Lazaro Vega Quote
Joe G Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 B major triad: B, D#, F I'm personally not a big fan of geometric shapes in place of chord names. Quote
7/4 Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 B major triad: B, D#, F I'm personally not a big fan of geometric shapes in place of chord names. I vaguely remember the triangle makes it a maj7. Isn't the triangle an Abersold thing? Quote
Free For All Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 B major triad: B, D#, F F# Not Gb? Quote
AllenLowe Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 I guess that's what they mean by sheets of sound - Quote
flat5 Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 Nice pictures but the chord input is very fussy. It refused B maj7 D7 | G Maj7 Bb7 | Eb maj7 Finally got it to accept B D7 | G Bb7 | Eb Received the result "No examples found". Quote
RedPalm Posted March 21, 2008 Author Report Posted March 21, 2008 Nice pictures but the chord input is very fussy. It refused B maj7 D7 | G Maj7 Bb7 | Eb maj7 Finally got it to accept B D7 | G Bb7 | Eb Received the result "No examples found". I guess there should be no spaces between first letter and chord type. I tried Bmaj7 D7 | GMaj7 Bb7 | Ebmaj7 and there were no errors. No licks either Quote
