Johnny E Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 The show is Philly was amazing. Better than last year's. In fact, as I was sitting there I was trying to think of a way of how I could ditch my life here and join the band. I concluded that it was not possible without a lot of pain. Alas. For you people that haven't seen/ heard Johnny's band yet - WTF are you dragging you feet for?? Good times await you. The new album is great. Love Samantha's writing and the playing is all top notch. The Organissimo board is blessed with two awesome drummers - Johnny and Randy. Aw, shucks! BTW, here's the cover of the new CD: Quote
Big Deal Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 John, glad that you and the band made it through intact and hopefully just as crazy. Thanks for sharing the music, it was great. Looking forward to the next, great Reptet tour. Quote
Johnny E Posted April 24, 2008 Author Report Posted April 24, 2008 Sorry I couldn't make the Trenton gig, I had something else going down. How is Trenton these days? Joe's Mill Hill Saloon is in (or was) a pretty nasty neighborhood. Beyond that, we had two barflys and two cracks heads in attendance. Needless to say, this was the first and last gig we will ever play in Trenton New Jersey. Ha! Been there, bro! Did you at least score some good rock? No, but one of the barfly's smoked us out on the stairway leading down to the basement. All the crack heads wondering by seemed really intrigued by our costumes. Quote
vajerzy Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 That sucks about the Mill Hill- Trenton is a State Government town and most people boogie out of there after hours. I last worked in Trenton in 1993 and it sounds like it hasn't changed much. If you come back East- try to make it to DC....I would say Richmond but I'm not sure what places host jazz anymore- I don't get out to see shows since I have a family. Our local NPR station 88.9 WCVE spins jazz for a few hours in the evening- DJ is Peter Solomon and he's a great guy- he knows what's happening in Richmond. I listen to it most nights. Glad you made it back safe. Would like to buy your album- I mean CD. Quote
