Jazzmoose Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 So, I guess no actual deposit was made and no bank confirmation of funds was given. How the hell did it make it into the AP report in the first place? The crack research team stands by their story! Quote

How the hell did it make it into the AP report in the first place? Look at the original story again. The mistaken info came directly from the seller, saying things he believed to be true at the time. Not much "research" that can be done on that. The ability of the press to check on people's bank accounts is slightly limited. Quote

Not much "research" that can be done on that. The ability of the press to check on people's bank accounts is slightly limited. But the seller's ability to check his own bank account is absolute, and he stated that a $300,000 deposit had been made. Maybe he'd lost track of his balance and when the bank gave it to him, he assumed that the money had cleared. Quote
catesta Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Why not just offer it to the next highest bidder, or was that all bullshit as well? Quote

I would like to ask you to keep my bid for £5.25 for the entire collection including shipping and storage costs - secret. I have used the government postal system to register my bid on a cd romwhich they assure me has been safely delivered. I will of course pass on any double I receive to kinder members here. The Magnificent Goldberg Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 You were on a bit of a roll this morning, Andy, weren't you? Took me a long time to catch up. MG Quote
